"I clearly remember being really impressed with the Finnish composer Ero Hamniemin when he came to the Royal Northern College of Music when i was studying composition there. He told us all about a Finnish group called Korvat Auki (open ears) of which he was a member. The group elected a chairman from amongst their number but the position was only for one year.
The whole idea of this really appealed to me and stuck in my mind for sometime. The philosophy of a creative community of like minded people coming together creating something greater than the sum of its parts was my aim. Bringing together, music, dance, art, animation within this new world of multi media (at the time, the time being the early 1990's) was my ultimate goal.
